Hello! I'm Julian. I am from South Africa. I have a 420-hour TEFL Diploma (Level 5) which is equivalent to a CELTA-qualification. I specialise in Business English, Job Interview Preparation and Conversational Fluency. I focus on helping you communicate more effectively and confidently in the workplace and in life. Many of my students have shared their success stories after having classes with me. Some of these stories include being able to do a presentation in English for the first time, participating effectively in business meetings, closing a deal in a negotiation and passing a job interview. 

What makes me different is that I only select the most common and natural English phrases and word combinations (collocations) to learn and practice in my classes. In this way, you are able to become an effective communicator and speak confidently in a variety of situations. Most of these phrases can be used in different situations.

Hi, I’m Rob, a native English speaking teacher from Canada currently living in Prague, Czech Republic, with 20 years of ESL and university teaching experience. I work with intermediate to advanced students (B1-C2), with most of my students interested in conversation/communication English (focusing on speaking and listening skills, including fluency, vocabulary, pronunciation and intonation, and grammar), but I’m also happy to work with students on writing and reading.

My teaching style is relaxed, friendly, and engaging—I try to make every lesson an interesting and enjoyable one. But I’m also professional, prepared, organized, and reliable. I rarely use a textbook—some students mainly enjoy having conversation, but I also often use videos and texts of various kinds and even songs to provide a wide variety of topics, new vocabulary, varieties of listening practice, etc., and lessons are individually designed to each student’s level, interests, and requirements.

I’ve taught English in Vietnam and Czech Republic since 2016 and also have 12 years of Canadian university teaching experience in cultural history and in architecture/design. I’m also a writer-artist-designer. I received a professional architecture degree in 1989 and the Trinity College Level 5 English teaching certification in 2019. I’m a native English speaker with an easy-to-understand, neutral Canadian accent.

For the last 2 years, most of my English teaching has been online, though I also enjoy teaching non-virtually. I primarily use and recommend the Zoom platform for online teaching for its reliability, video/sound quality, and support for varieties of teaching resources. Students can use Zoom from their browser or by downloading the app on their desktop or phone/tablet (though laptop is recommended).

Hi there! My name is Alessia and I'm a certified English teacher from Canada. I've been living in Lucca, Italy for the past seven years and I love it! 

I've been teaching for over seven years now. In 2016 I completed my TESOL certificate and shortly thereafter began teaching at a private elementary school. I've worked with people ages 5-55 and my favourite thing about teaching is getting to know people from different cultures and learning all about their customs and traditions. My second favourite thing is seeing my students succeed and achieve their language goals! 

My approach to teaching depends on the individual needs of my students. Each lesson is customized to the unique goals of my students. That being said, you can definitely expect homework in my classes! For conversation lessons, we'll focus on using media to expand your vocabulary and spend the entire lesson speaking about different topics. For those who need a grammar brush-up, we'll use various books to support your learning but still focus on conversation to help you fully integrate what you've just learned! 

I also have experience preparing students for the IELTS exam for both immigration and academic purposes. I absolutely love the IELTS exam in that it provides students with a real challenge and something to aspire to. I have a wide variety of resources that I use to help you prepare which cover everything from grammar and vocabulary to the actual "how-to's" of writing the exam. If you are interested in working with me on exam prep, I suggest AT LEAST 3-6 months to prepare properly for the exam since you'll not only need to improve your language skills but also your exam-taking skills.

My name is Ali and I am an IELTS teacher. Teaching IELTS is actually my passion. I have been teaching English since 2002, but in 2009 I decided to focus exclusively on IELTS and since then I have just trained my students for this exam. During these years, I have endeavoured to help my students develop the necessary English language skills to be successful in their future business and particularly university setting. I am also proud of providing the best teaching methods for my students to help them get their IELTS score as soon as possible.

Hi, I am Harriet, a native English speaker and qualified teacher.

The lessons are structured around you as an individual and start with finding out what you want to learn or improve and why. We will then agree a plan of fun and challenging activities to help you meet your goals. I teach general conversation skills, including increasing confidence and learning new vocabulary, and Business English. I have helped many students successfully prepare for job interviews or to take on new roles. I can also help you prepare for the language tests. 

The lessons will be lively and varied, using a range of methods, materials and contexts. We will regularly review your progress and goals and I will suggest activities outside of class to help you practice what you have learnt. I am experienced in teaching beginners to advanced level students from teenagers to adults. I have Masters degrees in Creative Writing and Psychology and so am able to use and teach both creative and academic language skills. 

 I live in Hove in southeast England and also spend a lot of time in Lisbon, Portugal. I am trying to learn Portuguese and finding it challenging but fun.  I love meeting new people and finding out about them and what motivates them. I enjoy reading, eating out, drinking coffee, walking, exploring new places, TV and movies and talking to people. I look forward to meeting you and taking our first lesson together!

Do you need to improve your English? I have tried-and-tested methods to help ESL students become more fluent and confident. I have a degree in education, a TEFL/TESL certificate, and an Online Teaching certificate with lots of experience. I have also authored English textbooks and study guides for children in the primary school.  

My approach is holistic. I use interesting topics, pronunciation drills and language videos to help develop fluency AND accuracy. I am patient and very encouraging as I believe students learn best when they feel relaxed. I've had great results with many students aiming to get to a new English level or maintain a high level. With advanced students, I like to discuss complex topics and deal with work-related issues.  

I have lived in South Africa my whole life but have been fortunate to travel to many countries and experience many different cultures and of course, delicious dishes. I enjoy the outdoors and spending time with family and friends. I also love keeping up to date with current affairs including sport, politics, and arts and culture.
