Hello, I'm teacher Kelly and I'm a native English speaker from the UK. 

I completed my TEFL in Asia and have over 6 years teaching experience with kids and adults from a combination of working in schools and online. My students tell me I have a clear and neutral accent that is easy to understand. They often comment on my relaxed and fun energy in my lessons. 

When working with children I create vibrant and interactive lessons that include phonics, writing & reading. After each class a worksheet or activity can be given. When working with adults I also like to create fun lessons. Learning grammar is stressful and I like to focus more on conversation and simplified explanations. We learn about phrasal verbs, idioms and lots of other things a new learner should need to be able to understand and speak like a native. 

As a teacher I believe it is important to make the students feel comfortable and give them a safe space to learn and not to be afraid to make mistakes. Learning a new language is not easy it takes time and dedication, I understand this and try to build the students confidence as much as possible.

I live in the South West of England, and I have a standard British accent. I speak Spanish fluently and a little French. I have spent 10 years learning Spanish so I know what it is like to lack confidence and to feel that you can't remember anything under pressure. But I also know what a joy it is to be able to communicate effectively.  It is also why I love teaching because I meet people from all over the world and I learn so much about other cultures and countries.

Hi, I’m Rob, a native English speaking teacher from Canada currently living in Prague, Czech Republic, with 20 years of ESL and university teaching experience. I work with intermediate to advanced students (B1-C2), with most of my students interested in conversation/communication English (focusing on speaking and listening skills, including fluency, vocabulary, pronunciation and intonation, and grammar), but I’m also happy to work with students on writing and reading.

My teaching style is relaxed, friendly, and engaging—I try to make every lesson an interesting and enjoyable one. But I’m also professional, prepared, organized, and reliable. I rarely use a textbook—some students mainly enjoy having conversation, but I also often use videos and texts of various kinds and even songs to provide a wide variety of topics, new vocabulary, varieties of listening practice, etc., and lessons are individually designed to each student’s level, interests, and requirements.

I’ve taught English in Vietnam and Czech Republic since 2016 and also have 12 years of Canadian university teaching experience in cultural history and in architecture/design. I’m also a writer-artist-designer. I received a professional architecture degree in 1989 and the Trinity College Level 5 English teaching certification in 2019. I’m a native English speaker with an easy-to-understand, neutral Canadian accent.

For the last 2 years, most of my English teaching has been online, though I also enjoy teaching non-virtually. I primarily use and recommend the Zoom platform for online teaching for its reliability, video/sound quality, and support for varieties of teaching resources. The lessons are structured around you as an individual and start with finding out what you want to learn or improve and why. We will then agree a plan of fun and challenging activities to help you meet your goals. I teach general conversation skills, including increasing confidence and learning new vocabulary, and Business English. I have helped many students successfully prepare for job interviews or to take on new roles. I can also help you prepare for the language tests.

I am experienced in teaching beginners to advanced level students from teenagers to adults.  I live in Hove in southeast England and also spend a lot of time in Lisbon, Portugal. Hi, I'm Cara. I help new arrivals in English-speaking countries understand and chat to fast-talking native speakers by improving their listening skills with movies. I'm originally from the UK, have lived in France for 16 years and I've been teaching English for around 10 years. 

Improving your listening skills helps you not only understand people, but also makes you sound more natural in English. That's because when you understand what people are saying to you, you can pick up expressions that native speakers really use so that you can fit in with them. 

My special listening skills method will also help you watch movies and TV series without the subtitles. 

Here's how my lessons work (my classes are 30 minutes long with pre-class tasks to complete): 

• Before the lesson, I send you links to movie clips plus listening and writing tasks to improve your listening skills.
• You listen to the clips, do the tasks, and write your answers in a Google doc that I share with you. That way I can see your answers.
• During a 30-minute class, we go over your answers together and I help you understand the fast pronunciation of words from the clip you didn't catch.
• You learn new vocabulary, improve your listening skills and work on your pronunciation. We'll also have some general discussion about the clip.
