I am a trained linguist with extensive experience in second language learning. My method is based on creating natural speech environments where the student can improve their knowledge without even noticing. I myself have learned several languages on my own by focusing on a small set of simple methods.

 In my classes we use a natural language environment where we talk about everyday things, politics, interests and dreams. In the meantime, we will improve patterns and learn grammar in a natural way. I will be both a conversation partner and a coach for you, giving tips and advice to help you who want to take your Swedish to the next level.

Native Swedish speaker with a standard Stockholm accent. I have taught Swedish for a couple of years to students of various backgrounds, from teenagers learning Swedish at school to professionals moving to Sweden for work. I can help you practise conversation on both everyday and specialized topics, as well as reading, writing and grammar. If you want to prepare for the national language exam TISUS I have experience doing this as well. I love talking and listening to people, I’m really good at grammar and I have a huge vocabulary.

Most of my lessons are based on conversation, that is, we talk to each other and every now and then we take a little break to focus on some particular item of grammar or vocabulary which appears in the conversation. The conversation can be really simple or very complex, but it’s almost always fun! I take notes during the lesson and during subsequent lessons we use these notes to rehearse and develop particular themes. 

It’s also fun to discuss peculiarities of Swedish culture, I have lived in several countries and will recognize and help you discover some strange aspects of living in Sweden. And if you are moving there and need help with some practicalities I am happy to do this as well. 

As far as formal experience goes, I have university degrees in Classics, Philosophy and Mathematics and have worked as a qualified high school teacher in Sweden.

My name is Stina and I am excited to be your new Swedish teacher! Teaching is truly my passion and I love connecting with people from all over the world and would love to help you improve your language and communication skills in Swedish.  I have worked as a language teacher my whole adult life, both online and in high school settings, in Sweden as well as abroad.

My name is Isabella and I'm a Swedish teacher from Stockholm. I offer structured lessons for all levels (A1-C2), including for total beginners, as well as more informal conversation focused lessons. The lesson plan is tailored to the student's personal level and goals.

Hej! I offer personalized Swedish lessons from A1 to C2, according to your needs and interests. I have been teaching Swedish full time online over the last four years, to children, teenagers and adults, so I'm able to adapt to any different way of learning. In our trial lesson, we will discuss your current goals and talk about a strategy that fits you perfectly.

Lesson examples:

If you are a complete beginner we can use my efficient ”beginner plan”, with the essentials you need to build up the basics in the language. This includes grammar, basic phrases and vocabulary, pronunciation exercises and role games. If you are on a basic, intermediate or advanced level, we could discuss a specific topic from my discussion list, or get immersed in the different grammar areas.

Materials:

No books are needed, unless you don’t want to use yours - I will share my own materials such as pdf-files, articles, videos and pictures. I can also provide you with homework, which we correct in our next coming lesson.

About me:

I'm originally from Göteborg, but for seven years I've lived in Lucca, Italy, so I also speak fluent Italian. As your tutor I am patient and creative. I'll challenge you, speaking as much Swedish as possible and encouraging you to do the same - without pressure!
