Hello, my name is Alice and I'm Brazilian, I was born in the city of Rio de Janeiro. I currently live in Mexico and have dedicated myself in teaching my mother language, Portuguese, to foreigners. I am a Portuguese teacher graduated by a Brazilian University, which makes me able to offer my didactic knowledge in the teaching and learning of the Portuguese language to my students.
My classes are focused on the communicative method, to develop all 4 skills required to become fluent in a language (writing, speaking, listening and reading). I plan my classes dynamically, with scenes from movies/series, music, memes, lots of visual resources, games and also exercises so that my students can have fun, learn easily and not be afraid to speak. I try to create a friendly environment so that my students feel free to ask questions, participate and thus develop their knowledge of the language. I also speak English, Spanish and German, so that I can help my students in case of any doubts that cannot be clarified in Portuguese, but of course I always try to speak in Portuguese during my classes to develop speaking skills from the beginning. I love teaching my mother language and I believe in teaching the real language, the one that the student will really hear from a native speaker and that is why my classes are based on activities, vocabulary and teaching techniques that mix the playful with the traditional methods in balance so that all students achieve excellent knowledge and full practice of the language.

I've had several conversational classes with Alice and she's far exceeded my expectations. Alice always prepares classes. She shares a PowerPoint with a series of varied questions, always on a new interesting and relevant subject. This strategy that allows me to practice a wide range of vocabulary. Subjects can be related to Brazil and Portugal, or general issues of modern life (for example: Carnaval, different Portuguese accents, the use of technology, pets, predatory marketing, etc). We go through the questions she's prepared and written in the PowerPoint as we have a conversation. There are often videos to listen to and chat about. She makes a point to steer the lesson to get me to talk and practice, while also making it feel like a conversation. I like that she prepares the conversations because I don't have to think about new subjects myself, and also because it helps us use up all the time with Portuguese practice instead of logistics! Alice kind when she corrects me and shares a notepad on the screen where she writes new words or corrections. After the lesson, she immediately sends the notepad to me for my keeping. Aside from preparing each class, taking notes during class, and carefully steering the conversation to get me to practice as much as possible on varied subjects, Alice very friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. Overall, my experience has been absolutely superb in many dimensions. Alice is more than a pleasure to learn from! Obrigada!
