I am an experienced German tutor teaching students (individuals and groups) at all levels and all ages.

I am a native German speaker and have lived in the UK for over 25 years.

Learning a language should be fun and the German you learn should suit the environment you want to use it in. I have worked as a German tutor since 2003 and have also been a learning support assistant at a local school. I have experience working with students with learning difficulties and disabilities.

I am a German native speaker from Austria who loves languages and am passionate about teaching others. I work as language teacher in a school, teach adults at the German Culture Center and prepare my students for all types of official language exams. I love my job and always seek to make it as much fun as possible.

I am adapting my way of teaching to the needs and the personality of my students. Hallo! My name is Nina, I grew up in Berlin, Germany, but I´ve lived in the most northern German federal state for ten years now.

I´ve studied Linguistics and German/German as a foreign language and I have 6 years of teaching experience (mostly beginner level). I´ve been teaching German for a few years at a school (A1-B1) and at a University of Applied Science (Fachhochschule- Studienkolleg, B2-C1) and I teach German online since July 2021 and focus on the BEGINNER-levels up to B1. As you can see in my video, I can speak slowly and clearly for beginners. Due to my linguistic studies I can also help you with pronunciation and have many tips and exercises to help you improve your pronunciation.

I am well organized and have a lot of material at my disposal, also for self-learning if desired. In addition, I supplement the lessons with exercises in which you are active  and I also like to focus on pronunciation. We will set your goals at the beginning and we will work at your pace. In my lessons, you will learn to communicate in everyday situations. Of course you will also learn to read, write & understand German.

For me it is very important to create a pleasant atmosphere and to teach German with fun! 

A little bit about myself: I´m very interested in languages, at the moment I`m learning Arabic, so I know what it is like to learn a new language. In my free-time, I like to be outdoors (ride my bike, hiking) but also inside (pet my cat Milou or be creative- painting, upcycling,...)

Would you like to learn German with personalized lessons according to your needs and interests? Then I'm the right teacher for you!  In my German lessons you will not only learn the correct pronunciation and grammar but also a lot of useful facts and details about the German culture and way of living. This will help you if you are already living in a German-speaking country or plan to move there. I can also help you with exam preparation, such as Goethe-Test, Telc, or TestDaF.

We will use role plays, audios, videos, and a lot of different materials in order to improve your speaking, reading, writing and listening skills. Every student has a different learning pace and different needs and interests. In the trial lesson I will find out what your goals are and with that information I will be able to adapt my German lessons so that you will learn German and enjoy it!

Since I have a Zoom Business account, you won't need to reconnect to the meeting during our  lessons (55 minutes).

Some facts about me: I was born in Spain and raised in Germany, so Spanish and German are my native languages, but I also speak English (C1 level), French (B2 level), and a little bit of Portuguese. Over the last 30 years I have taught languages (English, German, and Spanish) to children and adults of all ages and levels. I've helped several students to pass different language exams.

Since earning my Master’s in Teaching German as a Foreign Language, I have been teaching my native language at universities and language schools in Germany and abroad for fifteen years.

My teaching approach is communicative, intercultural and learner-centered. Over the years I have developed my own material which I supplement with current course books, online material and authentic sources like German songs, TV programs/films and literature.

Depending on your level in German, we come up with topics to talk about in order to practice your conversation skills: travel, politics, the cities we live in, art, culture, the news, your job, your dreams and goals - anything :) It doesn't matter if you're fluent or not, I will adjust to your level (B1 and up) so that you don't feel overwhelmed. Language learning should be fun! 

Corrections and suggestions will be provided in the chat box. (this is not a grammar class though so explanations will be kept brief to focus on the conversation and improving fluency.

Given my background as a Communications Director at a global company I'm also happy to include business topics if that's of interest to you. (as well Mock Interview Sessions are possible)

My classes are NOT for absolute beginners. As it is a conversation class, you must be able to hold at least a basic conversation.

I am a qualified native German teacher (PGCE) from a town near Dortmund and I have been teaching German as a foreign language for over 30 years in a Grammar school setting in Northern Ireland. I have experience in the following: - 

• Teaching German as a private tutor face to face and online. 
• Teaching students to GCSE and A level examinations in my school and privately.
• Prepared students of all ages for the Goethe Institute level A2 and B1 examination.
• Teaching the Junior and Leaving Higher Certificate in German. 
• Teaching children who were born or had lived in Germany for some time but then moved back to the UK and successfully helped them retain their German and also complete the GCSE and A2 examinations for the Goethe Institute. 
• Teaching adults who have relocated to Germany and needed to pass the B1 examination to apply for Citizenship in Germany.

My teaching is as varied as my students are. I often use the online version of the textbook recommended  by the Goethe Institute "Berliner Platz" A1, A2 and B1 level. I adapt my learning style to suit individual needs should you prefer conversational German or a more grammar focused lesson. I make the lesson enjoyable by including up to date teaching materials and refer to websites that will give the learner an insight into German culture as well, whenever possible, play quizzes such as Kahoot.

I am a patient and dedicated German tutor (check my reviews :) ) and I have worked with adults and children of all ages and German levels, so I have teaching material for every level and for exam preparation. Recently, I helped one of my students to pass the Goethe B2 exam. I started teaching languages 5 years ago and obtained a teaching certificate. I´ve been teaching German online for about 3 years. My mother tongues are German and Spanish, but I also speak English (C1 level) and a little bit of French.

My name is Sandra and I am a qualified teacher with a Masters of Education in German and English as a Second Language,  Physical Education , Religion and Art with 8 years of experience in teaching at various schools in Germany , Australia, Asia, Canada. My goal is to equip my students with tools and also to inspire them with my enthusiasm for the German language & culture. Teaching Approach

There are many ways to teach a lesson. I'm a lover of a varied approach whenever applicable. I can honestly say that I will always do my very best to find suitable methods in order to facilitate comprehension and learning.

Over the course of a lesson, I might use audio files, videos, transcripts, books, worksheets or custom-tailored exercises that I feel are best suited for that particular student. Likewise, I will also train conversation - practical or otherwise.

I highly value being kind, patient, modest and encouraging. I always strive to create an environment that fosters a positive feeling. An inviting atmosphere is essential for learning anything at all. I welcome mistakes students make because it's normal to do so, plus that is one of the best ways to learn something properly.

My ultimate goal for you, as my student, is to enjoy yourself while learning and progressing!

Students are different, and all have their own individual needs and expectations. I see myself as someone who is guiding them along their chosen path. Occasionally prompting them to discover (the beauty of) a concept here and there they might otherwise have overlooked. Helping them to develop long-term strategies that will make them feel accomplished and self-assured.

Qualifications & Experience

I've studied at a German university. I've worked as a full time teacher in German trade schools for many years. I've easily taught more than 4,500 lessons over the years. I taught students from all walks of life, with their ages ranging from fifteen to forty-five years.

My name is Beatrice, and I’m excited that you want to learn my native language, German, or Swiss German. 

For the last 10 years, I have taught German to colleagues and friends, and since February 2023, I have been teaching German online. So far, I have helped an A2 and a B1 student pass their TELC German certificates in Summer 2023.  I have an English, French and Spanish language certificate, and I'm following training for a German language teaching degree.  

It is important for me that you enjoy learning German, that I can help you in a well-understood and enjoyable way, and that you reach your goals. It is up to you what you wish to learn — if you need German for your profession, for traveling, or if you want to pass a Goethe or TELC language certificate. 

For many years, I lived in Germany, Switzerland and Spain. There, I worked in tourism as well as customer service in the front and back offices as an agent and team leader. I have taught all levels at our national university language lab and privately. Also, I prepare for international examinations: *Goethe A1-A2-B1-B2-C1-C2, *TELC, *DSH, *Occupation Medicine B2-C1, *Workplace/occupation A2-B1, *Children A1-A2.

These are communicative, state-of-the-art and highly efficient classes that comprehensively integrate the four learning abilities of listening and reading comprehension, oral and written expression, but without compromising on the required grammar. That's because I have all the suitable tools at our disposal. In addition to the class and workbooks, we use an interactive PDF-whiteboard. We have numerous audio and video tracks, as well as other very efficient interactive tools. Levels range from beginner to advanced, from A1 to C2. 

My approach is systematic but flexible, fully adapting to the learning pace of each student, so that they feel comfortable. And of course, I also try to make the class enjoyable and entertaining without leaving the academic objectives aside.
