I had five lessons with Julien and loved them all. He's a terrific teacher with a warm and non-intimidating manner that makes it easy to speak (and make inevitable errors). He also provides a wide variety of very interesting materials to serve as a basis for conversation. I can't recommend him highly enough!

I have had only a few lessons with Julien but within that time, I have learned a lot. He structures his teaching around exercises designed to introduce a new topic and then practice it which helps a lot with making things stick. He is a very energetic and passionate tutor and he speaks to you in French first before translating as needed so you always get both guided listening and speaking practice. So far, it has been very enjoyable and rewarding to study French from scratch with Julien!
