My name is Simos and I live in the beautiful island of Crete. I am born and raised in Athens, the capital of Greece. I have completed my Bachelor's degree in Greek Philology, specialized in Linguistics and I hold a master's degree in teaching Greek as a second language. Patience and calmness are my main traits, which help me in teaching. I love hiking, motorcycle rides and my brown labrador, Rocket.

I have 2 years of teaching experience with foreign students and 5 years experience with local students. I have worked as a teacher in the Greek Counsil of Refugees, helping adult refugees to learn the language and the Greek society. I am familiar with online platforms and tools. My master's degree has provided me essential skills for teaching, such as modern ways of teaching, e-books and lesson plans for every type of student. I like to use the communicative approach in teaching, focusing on language use. My main goal is to design the lessons according to my students needs, so they can be fun and effective at the same time.

1. We are going to interact with authentic texts that involve everyday subjects, such as dialogues, articles, poems and novels so we can add new vocabulary and explain grammar stractures.
2. Greek videos and songs will be widely used to help you improve listening skills, as well as short conversations related with everyday topics.
3. Lessons will be mainly in Greek, regardless of your level, exposing you to situations where you need to speak the language.
4. Finally, tasks that involve writing will be assigned for homework, such as forming small sentences, fill in the blanks but also writing letters and essays in Greek.

Subjects like Greek history, literature, music, tradition are used during the lesson and for homework. I strongly believe that those who try to learn the language, should also get in touch with the Greek culture. By doing this, students begin to understand the Greek way of thinking and develop a greater connection with the language.

About me- I study at an American college in my hometown and I have been speaking English for about 14 years. Me as a Teacher

I graduated from the Pedagogical Kapodistrian University of Athens. In my university I had many lessons on how to maximize student’s potentials and make the lesson interesting and efficient. My lessons & teaching style

In the class we will use various books - depends on the goal of the student reaching the level of fluency the students desires ranging from A1 -C2 level . We will work in all aspects of language in reading, speaking, listening and writing so the student is prepared to face any challenge in the Greek language or to acquire a certification as the Greek Certificate. We will also have homework in the classes so to strengthen and accelerate the learning process.

My name is Thanasis and Greek is my native language. I was born and raised in Greece and I graduated from the University of Athens. I have also lived and studied abroad in both Europe and Asia. I have a Master’s degree in Linguistics. I have been teaching professionally at schools and freelance since 2016. I teach adults students of all levels.

Language is not just my job but my passion, and I feel that teaching languages is what I was born to do. I am a language enthusiast and have studied several languages myself; in fact I am currently studying Hindi so I know first hand the difficulties one faces when studying a foreign language. To make things easier I try to make sure my classes are well planned and effective but also fun. I try to use a mixed method of teaching with the use of a textbook but also podcasts, short movies and audio tracks among others. From my experience most students are mostly interested in speaking so I make sure that at least half of the lesson is dedicated to that. We practice speaking through free conversation, role plays, describing pictures and other types of drills.

I teach all levels, but I could say that I specialize in beginners since I have the most experience with students who start from scratch.

• Reading, writing, pronunciation, grammar (don't worry, I won't give you a headache by expecting you to learn all the grammar rules by the book; there are more easy and fun ways to learn something! ), vocabulary, listening, speaking, and, of course, sharing with you my culture as a Greek.

Do you have a specific teaching style?

My teaching approach depends on my students' level and needs, but generally, I believe that learning through conversation and examples while having some fun in the process is the best way not only to learn a new language but also to love the language!

What kind of resources do you use?

I have many textbooks that target different needs (listening, grammar, etc.), and I have also created my own notes and exercises that I believe will help you understand Greek a bit better. With more advanced students, I also work with Greek songs, videos, TV shows, stand-up comedy bits, and even memes and jokes in Greek!

What should I expect from my trial lesson with you?

We will talk about your level in Greek, your experience with the language, and your future goals regarding the language. Together, we will create a plan according to your needs.

Is there anything else I should know before my lesson?

Yes! What is very important to me is that you feel relaxed during the lessons. I want you to feel comfortable asking questions and trying to speak. Remember that I'm here to help you in any way I can! Just be yourself, and don't be afraid to make lots of mistakes!

My name is Marina, and I am an enthusiastic Greek language teacher! I have graduated from the Faculty of Philology of the University of Athens (Greece), and I hold a MA in Linguistics. I have successfully completed many programmes, seminars and workshops concerning Greek as a second/foreign language as well as editing/correcting texts.

Ι’m a native speaker and I have more than ten years of teaching experience. I teach children, teenagers and adults.

I have a Bachelor’s in English Language and a post-graduate degree in teaching methodology.

I’m fluent in English, Spanish, and Portuguese and speak a little bit of Italian.

I have travelled extensively, lived and taught in Italy and Spain so I’m quite familiar with different cultures and learning styles.

When I teach a lesson I take into consideration two factors: Students’ needs and their interests.

At the end of the class I want my students to have improved in their learning, to have enjoyed the class, to feel confident about themselves and motivated to continue learning.

Whether I teach a four year old child or an adult, whether my students want to learn Greek just for fun, to travel or to take an exam, I always tailor the lesson to their needs and give the best of myself.

I provide my students with extra photocopiable material and notes that I prepare just for them. I use photocopies, flashcards, games, real life material (articles, songs, videos e.t.c.) and send them internet links that can enhance their learning. I also give them extra homework in case they want to study the language by themselves and correct it offline.

I like being creative, innovative and using communicative, student-oriented methods.
