Hello, I’m a teacher of Portuguese, English and French. My native language is Brazilian Portuguese and I am from the state of Goiás. I am in my last year of my Bachelor's degree in Languages (French and Francophone studies Major) and I’ve been living in the beautiful city of Bordeaux for a while. I also have a music background. Plus, I love languages and study Spanish, German and Mandarin as a hobby.

I have had a significant amount of teaching experience both during my time as a working professional outside of the academy and as a student with different age groups and levels in Portuguese, English and French. I started by being an English tutor at high school to high school and college students and later on as an English language teacher for beginner to advanced levels and facilitator of conversation classes at a professional school. In the beginning of 2020 I acted as an English teacher and conversation partner for children ages 4-12 (online) and started at another online school as a French as a foreign language (FLE) classes in small groups and at the individual level (levels A2-B2).

Language learning has to be fun, in my opinion. That’s why we will always talk about things that interest and inspire you. If we’re practicing grammar or just talking about something else, I want to make it interesting for us and link the grammatical and formal terms to real-life subjects. Therefore, your emotional filter will be open and as a result your journey will be fun and enriching.

About me:

I am from São Paulo, Brazil, and I am presently living in Santiago, Chile. I am passionate about languages. I speak English and Spanish fluently and currently I am studying Japanese (A2 level). I love discussing a great variety of subjects such as cultures, literature, music, and linguistics. I am also a musician and play a traditional Japanese instrument called shamisen (influenced by São Paulo’s Japanese town).

I got my Bachelor of Arts degree in Portuguese and English in 2018 having now had 6 years of in-person teaching experience and 4 years of online teaching experience.

My name is Paula and I am a qualified Portuguese teacher. I studied to be a Waldorf primary teacher and also completed the TEFL, which additionally allows me to teach English.I also have a bachelor's degree is in Cinema and Communication.

I am half Brazilian/half Portuguese and I also teach both Brazilian and European Portuguese, depending on your preference. I am fascinated by all the varieties of my language and the small distinctions between them. It's so beautiful! 

I first meet students for a trial lesson, to get to know their objectives, their interests, and what kind of learners they are. Each person is different and I try to adapt to every student. In my classes, I use a communicative approach and we start talking from day 1. My goal is to make students feel comfortable with the language and not be afraid to make mistakes. I work on the development of speaking, reading, listening, and writing skills, as well as proper pronunciation and vocabulary enhancement.

Olá! My name is Carolina and it's a pleasure to meet you. I'm Portuguese, and I have been teaching my mother tongue for over 5 years at university level. I like to diversify the materials I use as much as possible to focus on all different aspects of the language, but I tend to prioritize speaking practice. I have taught courses as diverse as Spoken Portuguese, Advanced Writing, Portuguese Culture/Literature, and even Sports Readings in Portuguese. I studied Modern Languages at the University of Coimbra (look it up; it's one of the oldest universities in Europe!) and Literature at the University of Glasgow (quite a stunner as well). One day, a Chinese friend at the pub asked me whether I'd like to apply to his home university, all the way in China, as a Portuguese lecturer. I said 'no way,' so naturally, I ended up moving there shortly after and living in the beautiful city of Harbin for 3 amazing years. Not only did that experience provide me with adventure, but also a lifelong calling: I have loved teaching ever since. After returning to Portugal, I taught for two years at Beijing Sport University (online). Now I work as a freelance online teacher and divide my time between Portugal and Sweden.
