Hi everyone, I am Anna and I am a professional Italian teacher for foreigners. I come from Venice where I live and work. I can help you in the study of modern Italian as it is really spoken nowadays. I am a bilingual Italian and English teacher and a freelance translator at Ca' Foscari University in Venice. I completed the ITALS Master's degree for teaching Italian language and culture to foreigners. My field of specialization and current research is Psycholinguistics and Neurolinguistics to better understand what happens in our brains and minds when we study a foreign language and what emotions are involved. I specialize in teaching adults and seniors and am currently studying in a Psychology course at Yale University. I also have a CEDILS certification to teach Italian culture abroad. I have been teaching Italian and English since 2004. Hello! I'm Melissa, I live in Milan and I have a Bachelor Degree in "Foreign Languages ​​and Literatures". I am also an ENG-ITA translator specialized in video game.I'm also passionate about books, music, movies and TV series, so I'll always have something to recommend you in Italian!

For years I have tutored high school students and I have taught Italian to Arabic-speaking children as a volunteer. I currently teach group and individual Italian lessons for adults and these lessons are mainly based on conversation. I graduated in Linguistic and Cultural Mediation in Milan in 2013 and afterwards I achieved the Master Itals aimed at teaching the Italian language and culture to foreigners.

I have taught Italian for four years in La Paz, Bolivia by the SOCIETà DANTE ALIGHIERI, giving classes to adults and university students, while I have taught to kids and adolescents by the Colegio Italo-Boliviano of the same city.

I returned to Italy in 2019 and I was given the opportunity to teach Italian through the Berlitz school by the Leonardo Elicotteri Company, addressing to English managers and engineers.

As regards my teaching method, the student is the centre of the learning process.

I am Italian but I did my university in Scotland where I studied BA Economics. I love teaching in general and I love the contact with people: I was Italian tutor for international students, sports coach, and environmental projects assistant. I have a high sense of empathy and very good communication skills as well as listening skills. My teaching method is based on listening the needs and peculiarities of each student: some might want to focus on conversation, some on grammar, on a mix of everything, or on the preparation of a specific exam.
